Do I need an account to use AskOwlo?

Yes. We require login (free or premium) to keep our service safe from abuse and protect families. Free accounts get unlimited questions. Premium adds parent visibility, learning insights, and personalization.

What's the difference between Free and Premium?

How is AskOwlo different from Google?

AskOwlo is a closed garden—kids get their answer and never leave our platform. No external links, no rabbit holes, no landing on unsafe websites. Google takes kids to thousands of websites you can't control.

How is AskOwlo different from ChatGPT?

ChatGPT isn't designed for kids. It has no age filtering, no parental controls, and answers aren't tailored for young minds. AskOwlo automatically adjusts complexity for ages 5-7, 8-10, and 11-13. Plus, Premium gives you full visibility into what your kids ask and the answers they receive—something you can't get with ChatGPT.

What languages do you support?

AskOwlo supports 11 languages: English, Spanish, Arabic, French, Portuguese, Russian, German, Japanese, Turkish, Italian, and Dutch.

Can I set AskOwlo as my browser's default search engine?

Yes! This is the smartest way to protect your kids. Every search they type automatically stays in our safe environment. Works on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet! AskOwlo works great on any web browser (desktop, tablet, or mobile). A dedicated app is in our future plans.

How do you keep answers age-appropriate?

Every answer goes through multiple layers of safety: AI content filtering, age-specific language tuning (5-7, 8-10, 11-13), vocabulary adjustment, question validation, and continuous monitoring.

What makes AskOwlo safer than regular search engines?

We're a closed garden. Kids never leave our platform to visit external websites—where ads, inappropriate content, or unsafe rabbit holes exist. They get their answer and stay safe in one place.

What if my child asks about sensitive topics?

Our AI handles sensitive topics (like death, illness, or emotions) with age-appropriate care. Inappropriate questions are filtered out before processing.

Where is data stored?

All data is hosted in Europe with strict GDPR compliance. We minimize data collection and never sell or share information with third parties.

Can I monitor my child's learning?

How do the themes work?

AskOwlo offers 4 eye-friendly themes: Bright (light), Reading (warm beige), Ocean (blue), and Forest (green). Kids can switch themes anytime to reduce eye strain and personalize their experience.

Can my child use voice instead of typing?

Currently, AskOwlo supports text input only. Voice search is on our roadmap for future updates!

Can AskOwlo be used in classrooms?

Yes! AskOwlo would be great for classroom use—it's ad-free, safe, and encourages independent learning. We're working on special features for educators in the future.
